Will that be Notes, Banana Coins or Visa?

I don’t know if you were there for it, but I created a poll a few months ago about what would be the most intriguing new official online add-on for Rare’s site: Rareware.com , and the answer was overwhelmingly in favor for an online store. After thinking about it, why the heck not? Want some extra money from Rare’s dept, Microsoft? Why not set up a small division like the Bungie store (Well, looks like THAT example’s offline) or the Microsoft Store? http://store.microsoft.com/home.aspx

If fans want to buy two-dollar shirts with a 25-cent iron-on logo for Banjo-Tooie Live for 15-20 bucks, a hard-to-find in the States copy of It’s Mr. Pants, or a limited edition action figure of Spinal, why not? It’d give some people jobs, creating the new Rare-themed swag, manning the RareStore, and whatever else goes into creating on online store. I can already imagine some of the (being realistic here!) stuff that could hit the E-shelves:

-NSTC & PAL versions of all Rare made Xbox 360/Xbox titles.

-T-shirts for all of the above

-The collection of THQ portables from the GBA/DS era.

-Viva Pinata plushies.

-Xbox Live content linked to your Gamertag, like the Arcade Games, Themes, Picture Packs, etc.

-Prima Strategy guides, PDZ novels/comics, Kameo comics, Making Of “Insert Game Here” Books.

-Art: Posters of concept art/logos/renders nicely printed ready to be framed for your wall.

-Toys? I’d buy a Blue Jet Force Gemini Ant Drone… J

Maybe if we ask Microsoft nicely, they’ll go out of their way to make a website so we can get some cool swag based on or favorite games in exchange for ALL OF OUR MONEY? Aww, I’d go broke… See you lot on Friday!
